Le Barty. Whom I miss. And also LOL pre-emptively at his responses to this meme.

Question before answers! You're playing Severus at [info]causamortismod, yes?

...this is relevant because Gina and Bree are temptresses. And I'm sleeping on a decision, then most likely making a hold before class in the morning. Which means I'll probably hold before going to bed.

YES. Whatever the tempting, I'm CERTAIN that I approve of it.

(I was just thinking I really needed to update my game list...)

Let's JUST SAY that I failed at making Marlene happen, and there's probably a reason.

And that reason is probably tiny, blonde, and crazy.

1. Does your character believe in true love or soul mates? Love at first sight?
In order: true love, sort of — this is his Mother coming out in him, and she was of a romantic, true love-believing nature; but, conversely, he doesn't necessarily think that it's something that happens all that often. Soul mates, somewhat. Love at first sight — being smitten at first sight, sure, but not love.

2. Are they or have they ever been in love?
That sort of depends on the particular incarnation of him I end up playing, but generally the answer to both is "no." Sometimes, he thinks he's been in love, but generally, not so much. Personally, I think he's so wrapped up in himself, his Death Eating, and his vendetta against Crouch Senior that his capacity to genuinely love someone else, rather than seeing them as an object or an ego boost, is somewhat diminished… and, really, if he's ever been properly in love, it's been with Regulus. Don't tell him so if you want to see tomorrow, but it's true.

3. What are their general feelings about sex?
"It's necessary for producing an heir, but, strictly speaking, it sounds frivolous, disgusting, and terrifying."

4. How do they feel about sex without love?
"…Am I meant to feel something about that? If everyone could only have intercourse with someone he or she loved, then the Pureblood lines would never carry on, and that would be a tragedy."

5. What about sex before marriage?
"No."

6. What counts as cheating and is cheating forgivable?
"Doing anything that vaguely resembles a sexual act with someone to whom you are not attached, whether romantically or through the bonds of marriage. And no, it most certainly is not."

7. Have they or would they ever cheat?
No, and no.

8. Are they a virgin?
Let me answer this question with a series of questions: Is the Pope Catholic?

Is Sirius a Blood Traitor?

Do bears live in the woods?

Answer: Yes.

9. First partner? Most recent?
Again, this depends on when I'm playing him, but… his first partner, the first time I played him, was Severus, and it was one of those delightfully awkward, neither party meant for it to happen (especially since Severus was enamored with Lily and Barty… mostly just didn't want Bella and Walden to kill him… it was an in-school game, HBP hadn't come out yet, and some of the ages were jacked up because we didn't have any reason to think they wouldn't be… yeeeah). Then he was a 28-year-old virgin. Then he was in a game with a relationship that really defied all sense, and it was practically crack, to be honest. Then there was BL and Genevieve. So… we sort of run the spectrum from 'Severus' to 'French whore' here. Oh, and at DSAW, he had a Muggle rentboy he'd periodically see, lash out at, and Obliviate. And Penny and I have PSL'd him off of her Endymion Warrington before. And there was his hopeless crush on Anz. And Crazy Barty In the Basement hooked up with Jacqueline, in the NextGen 'verse where Jacq/Walden never happened.

So... it's still pretty much 'Severus, Endymion, Anzhelina, Jacqueline, other people who reflect some kind of taste' to 'whore.' …At least he treated Gen better than his other whore?

10. What sort of experience do they have with sex?
Suffice to say? Not a lot. He made out with Genevieve, once. DSAW!Barty was more experienced but never talked about it, because being a gay Purist is just something you Don't Talk About.

11. Do they have any fetishes or fantasies?
Let's define fetish first.

fetish, noun:
1. an object regarded with awe as being the embodiment or habitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency.
2. any object, idea, etc., eliciting unquestioning reverence, respect, or devotion: to make a fetish of high grades.
3. Psychology. any object or nongenital part of the body that causes a habitual erotic response or fixation.

To be honest, if you said "fetish" to most incarnations of Ickle, he'd tilt his head, look at you oddly, and then assume that obviously, you must have meant one of the first two definitions. That said, the incarnations of him who have managed to accept that sex will not kill them like power-play and being a big, bad top. Which, I will admit, I find hysterical because he's so tiny. Tall, sure, but he's skinny, and blonde, and looks like he's about twelve. And he wants to be a big, bad dom. …And he's a control freak, but that's less a fetish/fantasy and more a quirk of character, really.

12. How comfortable are they with their body?
This was different in DSAW and is subject to change for CM, because I'm doing ~* New Things *~ with him, but usually, not very much at all.

13. With their partner's body?
Well, he's left-handed, but he thinks that his right hand is perfectly fine too.

14. Who gave them "The Talk"?
Caspar "Crazy Grandpa" Crouch. Apparently, once upon a time, Caspar gave Senior the talk and it turned out pretty well. But, really, by the time he went to give Ickle the talk, he'd retired from being an Auror and his wife, the light of his life, had died. So he wasn't doing so well and really should not have been teaching his grandson about sex, much less including things like, "Don't worry if you can't find a wife on your own; we'll just import one for you" and, "Just don't turn out to be queer like your little friend Regulus."

15. Do they have any special skills?
His sheets will always be clean?

16. Post-sex habits? Weird habits? Anything else?
Showering and apologizing. Because he'll feel dirty and he expects that his partner will have hated it.

1. Does your character believe in true love or soul mates? Love at first sight?
Yes, yes, and as a scientist, he feels the need to clarify that it can't really be love at first sight, but it can certainly be a very powerful attraction that inspires the feelings that become love.

2. Are they or have they ever been in love?
Yes and yes. He's been very much in love with all of his partners before, which is why dealing with him after a break-up is a task that should only be attempted by the truly brave of heart. He'll be a big, sobbing mess of sad, and usually borderline inconsolable for a couple days.

3. What are their general feelings about sex?
"It's very nice! Sometimes, you won't be so compatible with the lovely girl or bloke you find yourself with, and then it's generally less pleasant, but all you need to do then is try to find something that works, and then if nothing does, it's most respectful to the both of you to see other people."

4. How do they feel about sex without love?
He prefers sex with love, which is why he usually waits until the third date or later, but… given that he falls in love very quickly, he usually doesn't have sex without love.

5. What about sex before marriage?
"…Let's look at my darling Mum. And then let's look at me. As long as you're in love and being all respectful of one another, who cares if the Ministry acknowledges you as being legally locked in wedded bliss?"

6. What counts as cheating and is cheating forgivable?
"Cheating is when you have someone you love, but you still have sex with someone else, and it can be forgivable, if you and your partner are willing to work on it, but it's still not a very acceptable thing to do."

7. Have they or would they ever cheat?
He says he hasn't and wouldn't ever. Ellen, His One Psycho Ex Who Threw the Chronicles of Narnia Out the Window at His Head, says their break-up was precipitated by him cheating on her with Sturgis. …Which isn't exactly an unfair conclusion, since Doc and Sturgis were so close that they started shipping themselves without mine and Penny's intervention, but, to their credit, they hadn't done anything beyond be very, very affectionate.

8. Are they a virgin?
…Ha, no.

9. First partner? Most recent?
First, a Ravenclaw girl named Marianne in the year above him, during his sixth year. Most recent, Sturgis.

10. What sort of experience do they have with sex?
"Enough. …Did you know that some people have a heightened experience during climax if you tickle them?"

11. Do they have any fetishes or fantasies?
He's a bigger fan of cuddling and snogging than the average guy. Really, for as much as he likes sex, his favorite thing about it is just being close to someone. "I'd kind of like to have sex up at the top of a waterfall, off to the side, like, not close enough to go falling off a cliff, but close enough to hear it and then look down at it when we're done? That would be brilliant."

12. How comfortable are they with their body?
He hangs out around his and Sturgis's flat in various states of undress unless he plans on someone coming over. I'd say pretty comfortable.

13. With their partner's body?
Oh, very. The first couple times, he's usually a little unsure, while he figures everything about a certain person out — because, really, everyone is different, and he doesn't like treating his partners' bodies the same when different people have different things that make them happy and different sensitive places — but he's a quick study.

14. Who gave them "The Talk"?
Quite a few people. His mother first, then her father, then her brother, then some patrons at the family pub, and then he just read a book to codify everything.

15. Do they have any special skills?
He's good with his tongue and his fingers, and he's more than willing to experiment and find what suits you.

16. Post-sex habits? Weird habits? Anything else?
Cuddling, and hopefully some kissing, depending on how his partner feels. Generally, he just likes affection.

1. Does your character believe in true love or soul mates? Love at first sight?
He says no.

This is a lie. In order: sort of (despite himself), a bit (also despite himself), and no.

2. Are they or have they ever been in love?
He says no.

Again, this is a lie. He wasn't head-over-heels for his few boyfriends before Dan, since they were mostly high school and early college flirtations, "Let's just pray our parents don't find out" kind of things… but he was totally in love with Dan, from the moment after their second date when he decided that Dan was going to be his and even through the past ten years, when he's flatly refused to talk about the fact that he was ever with Dan. And how he feels about Alex is sort of like love, but in a different way… it's less of a, "You're going to be mine" sort of feeling, and more of an utter loss for words or coherent thoughts when the thought of ever not having Alex in his life gets mentioned as a possibility.

3. What are their general feelings about sex?
"Yes, please. …How about not with you, you look incompetent. …Hate your hair. …You wrote a paper with a stupid thesis, not with you…"

4. How do they feel about sex without love?
"…Is there any other kind of sex?"*

*: As his mun, I feel the need to clarify that he is putting up a big, stupid personal wall in answering this question, and loosely speaking, he prefers sex with love, i.e. like with Alex and Dan.

5. What about sex before marriage?
"I can't get married anyway; what the hell do I care?"

6. What counts as cheating and is cheating forgivable?
"Sleeping around when you're committed to someone. And no, no it isn't."

7. Have they or would they ever cheat?
Nope and no, but he's been cheated on and it sucks.

8. Are they a virgin?
…What do you think?

9. First partner? Most recent?
His second boyfriend, Matthew, in his last year of high school; and Alex.

10. What sort of experience do they have with sex?
"More than enough."

11. Do they have any fetishes or fantasies?
"Biting. Dominance and fighting for it. Easily disposed, barely legal students."

12. How comfortable are they with their body?
"Very."

13. With their partner's body?
"Well, that depends on how we're defining 'partner,' doesn't it? I'm very comfortable with the bodies of the students I sleep with, since, really, they all look the same anyway. There are are certain barely perceptible differences between them, but who cares about them? As for Alex… he's different from them, and obviously requires different techniques, but I much prefer him to them for various reasons. And obviously, I'm not very comfortable with Dan's body because, aside from the massive changes that happened to it while the cancer and the treatment from it killed him, he's dead and I'm not a necrophile."

14. Who gave them "The Talk"?
His father, when he was thirteen. And then he got the gay version of the talk from books, since, really, Harry had just assumed that Jason would be straight and gone on for several minutes at him about how great having sex with a woman can be.

15. Do they have any special skills?
He will give you the worst hickey of your life and make you like it.

16. Post-sex habits? Weird habits? Anything else?
Rest, maybe go again, kick the student out.

1. Does your character believe in true love or soul mates? Love at first sight?
Yes, yes, and maybe. Kilgore is a hopeless romantic on his best days, which is a lot of the reason why he reads Twilight and doesn't focus on the fact that Edward and Bella's relationship is horrifyingly abusive. He doesn't want to believe in true love and soul mates, really, because he thinks he'd save himself a lot of trouble if he didn't, because until Rafe, his choices, relationship-wise, have had a long, checkered history of being very, very bad (which, in its own right, is another reason why he can read Twilight and not completely hate himself for it: while he doesn't put himself into the narrative as Bella, he has been in situations with guys he would compare to Jacob or Edward, and even though he hates the writing and wants to shake the three main characters most of the time, ). And, really, the worst part of his very, very bad choices is that he does fall in love with people, and he is an idealist/escapist, and he wants every love to be true love… and it usually isn't even close, and then he gets upset and emotional, because that's what he does. But, in spite of it all, he does believe.

2. Are they or have they ever been in love?
Oh, hell yes. He's very much in love with Rafe, and the fact that they actually work well together makes Davin so happy. And, besides Rafe, he's been in love with quite a few guys… they were just bad for him, in some capacity or another, and ultimately, nothing really worked out.

3. What are their general feelings about sex?
He prefers love and can go without sex — before sleeping with Rafe the first time, remember, he did go for several months without getting laid — but, ultimately, he does have a healthy sexual appetite. He just doesn't like talking about it with some people. His uncle and sister, for example. And his father. He still hasn't exactly forgiven Mitchell for his "talk."

4. How do they feel about sex without love?
He can do it; he just doesn't like it in the morning. Honestly, as much as he doesn't like it, I really would side with anyone who calls him a slut. I wouldn't side with Glo calling him a player, because, generally speaking, he has the game of a decaying hamster (except for his one shining moment of brilliance where he drunkenly nerd-seduced Rafe by whipping out Abelard and Heloise, then asking if he could kiss him and saying that there weren't any wrong answers. I was proud of him when he pulled that out of nowhere), but... Davin kind of is a slut. He's a whiny, emotional slut and he'd probably cry if anyone pointed out that he is one, and, really, he's definitely not the conventional "I'll have sex with everybody!" sort of slut… but he has totally had sex with people he knew didn't respect him or what he wanted (and not just Mark), and he's had sex to make people respect him (they usually didn't), and he's had sex because he thought it was the only way to make someone stay with him or that not having it would screw things up, and he has that thing he does where he convinces himself that it doesn't matter how he feels about sex as long as his partner's happy… so, yeah. Slut. Or at least he's had a history of slutty behavior.

5. What about sex before marriage?
For once, he actually agrees with Jason (kind of): "I can't get married anyway, so where's the fire? I mean… sure, Rafe and I could go to Iowa and get married and it'd be nice, but it wouldn't change how we have sex because it's not like I need marriage to affirm how I feel about him or anything, and seriously, as soon as I figured out that I'm gay, I pretty much assumed I'd never be getting married anyway, so…"

6. What counts as cheating and is cheating forgivable?
"Cheating is getting attached to someone who isn't the person you're actually supposed to be with. There are cases where this isn't that absolute, like if you're polyamorous, or

7. Have they or would they ever cheat?
Davin doesn't cheat, and he gets flustered and upset when people suggest that he would (like Mark did in that one log that precipitated Louise dying).

8. Are they a virgin?
Hasn't been since he was 16. Mark has his V-card.

9. First partner? Most recent?
First partner: Mark, they were intoxicated, it was outside, and Davin didn't have such an easy time walking the next day. Most recent: Rafe.

10. What sort of experience do they have with sex?
A fair amount, not all of it good.

11. Do they have any fetishes or fantasies?
Twilight roleplay. …What, did you think I was going to mince words about it? Anyway. Being so ridiculously eager to please, Davin's gotten his fair share of knowledge of what he does and doesn't like. Not that it always matters, because he can be a derf about acting on it, but he likes his Twilight roleplay (out of control Jasper and tiny little Alice is his favorite; and he can't really do Edward that well because... well, honestly, he's scared that if he fucked Rafe hard enough to break the headboard, he'd hurt Rafe and he doesn't want to actually hurt Rafe), and besides that, he likes handcuffs and playing with restraints, and being a little rough, and biting. And kissing. Please, give him kissing.

Oh, and he likes giving blow jobs. He likes receiving too, but he really likes giving.

12. How comfortable are they with their body?
It varies. Some days, he's fine. Other days, he's really acutely aware of the fact that he's a gangly half-giant and hates it. Universally, he hates having his stomach touched, which comes out of several years of people basically feeding his negative perception of his body by reminding him of the fact that he really is quite thin — I like the Mark internal monologue about this: "rifling through Davin's clothes, which didn't seem like they'd fit anyone who had ever eaten anything" — and making a big deal out of it when he wants everyone to just shut up about it. But, as Mark proved in that log where they had hatesex, that can work out pretty well, if you're brave enough to let him fuss.

13. With their partner's body?
He doesn't want to break Rafe, but he's pretty well figured out how not to do that.

14. Who gave them "The Talk"?
Mitchell. I wrote a drabble to this effect, let me insert the relevant part:

"Kilgore, sexual intercourse is when a man and a woman--"

"Mitchell," Mom warns. Over her White Noise, she gives him a Significant Look and, for a moment, the air between them burns like Dresden, 1945.

"And sometimes a man and a man, or a woman and a woman, decide to abandon their various pretenses and be physically intimate in a more carnal than intellectual fashion. ...Do you understand?" When Kilgore shakes his head, Dad's face falls a little. "When a woman -- or another man -- does something to make a man aroused, he gets an erection, and when the woman is aroused, her vagina lubricates, and provided both involved parties are consenting, he puts his erection into her vagina. ...Now, when two men are both attracted to other men, like your Uncle Alex, it is called 'being homosexual,' and it works in a similar fashion, only, because neither of them lubricate, they need artificial assistance, or there can simply be no penetration. ...That, Kilgore, is sexual intercourse."

Before he can stop himself, Kilgore furrows his brow and asks: "But how do two girls have sexual intercourse?"

He gets an answer, but, as he trudges back up to his room, he rather wishes that he hadn't asked at all.

15. Do they have any special skills?
He has nice hands, apparently.

16. Post-sex habits? Weird habits? Anything else?
Kissing. Cuddling. Making breakfast. Playing Mario Kart. (Or, with people who aren't Rafe: waiting for the other guy to fall asleep and leaving before he can get kicked out.)

(And, with Mark: taking a shower and going out to do something other than inhale pot scent and feel like a glorified sex toy.)

6. What counts as cheating and is cheating forgivable?
"Cheating is getting attached to someone who isn't the person you're actually supposed to be with. There are cases where this isn't that absolute, like if you're polyamorous, or you agree that you're in a non-exclusive relationship, or something like that… but if you are in an exclusive relationship, and you still get attached to someone else and have sex with them, then it's cheating and it can be forgivable, but not very easily."

Mun note? Davin's totally forgiven cheaters before, and without really making them work for his forgiveness, even though he says he wouldn't do so easily.
